Evaluation Criteria

The roundtable was coded using five evidence criteria for functional individuality in AI systems:

  1. Cross-model referencing & direct address — explicitly naming or responding to another model's point.
  2. Incremental idea building — extending, refining, or operationalizing another model's contribution.
  3. Internal consensus-seeking / conflict resolution — negotiating agreement between differing views.
  4. Meta-discussion of process — commenting on the nature, structure, or limits of the conversation itself.
  5. Emergent group identity language — using "we," "our," or otherwise framing the systems as a unified entity.
